To James Holmes and that stupid NFL player, to the Columbine shooting and recently Sandy Hook shooting, this gun violence in America has shot off the roof.

Keeping a gun for protection is dumb. Well, why?

Almost everyone that keeps a gun for safety of a robber, keeps it locked up and hidden. What if you are watching TV and a robber busts in your back window, I'm sure you have time to run to your closet on the other side of the house, put the combination in, and check to see if your gun is loaded. It's not like I'll be keeping a gun in my pocket everyday.

What to do to keep violence the violence down?

Don't allow guns to citizens. No more, no less. A robber can still break into a house with a baseball bat or their fist (if they're really stupid) and try to beat you up.

Solution: Run away.

It's because of the 2nd Amendment. Unfortunately, It's pretty outdated.

Back when it was written, you had to carry a long rifle, place in the gunpowder and lead round, push it down with a long rod, and prepare the gun for firing. The entire process took at least a minute and a half. Since they never expected "Point and Shoot" guns to come into play.

By restricting access of guns to citizens, the best shot someone has at robbing you would be with a knife. Of course, they'd have to get in pretty damn close to do real damage, and would be tasered/shot/disarmed in an instant by security.

But we'll never change that here in America, because Texas really loves their shotguns

Same here. Security at my school is pretty tight. Of course, people have found ways to get past the system.

Of course, in my last post, I only described the possibility of gun use in crime. As you've already stated, guns aren't necessarily the problem because

When someone wants to kill you, they'd use everything they can get their hands on. Be it a loose brick, an ax, a hammer, a weed whacker, a paper clip, a bowl of spaghetti...........

But like I said, guns aren't going anywhere here in the U.S. because Texas sure loves 'dem shotguns

Ha.
A Camera in every room and hallway,
2 entrances that both have metal detectors and those x-ray 'lemmelookinyourbag' things.
An ID card for every student,
4 security guards per floor
Side entrances have alarms
Guests can only be in the main office unless they have a faculty member with them
and still,

Senior students can get past this because of the garage being open at any time.
