HanShotFirst (2012-12-15 00:04:03)Same here, but religion has nothing to do with this. (or at least, I hope)

Tragedy happens often, that much is true. But how can you be so.....apathetic to this? You didn't experience any the loss these people had today.
These children, innocent to the vices and sins of this god-forsaken world we live in, became the targets of a massacre. This isn't something you can just look at and say "Just another day". In "Just another day", it could be someone you cared for. I doubt you'd look at it impassively then.
Me, I personally don't believe in God or Jesus or any of that crap. If any that were true, these kids wouldn't be wondering why their best friends are taking a nap and not waking up.
But even worse than any tragedy, and my own personal pet peeve, is desensitized bastards with no sympathy or actual understanding of what actually just happened.
People die, yes. People are murdered yes. But CHILDREN don't need to know any of that yet. They should be worried less about when the reaper's going to knock on their door and more on the pretty butterflies and the warm sunshine.

HanShotFirst (2012-12-15 01:13:28)High score tops 21 million actually. Bonus points if we're adding in the casualties from WWII. Set by Adolf Hitler.

HanShotFirst (2012-12-15 01:44:42)"Your life isn't ruined just because your kid died"
Is what an arsehole would say. I just hope they can find the strength to overcome this. :T

Doreee (2012-12-15 01:50:21)Those children were too innocent to go that way. Too young to die, it was terrible for them to even go through that.
And I feel terrible for those parents. To get a call, and hear: "Your child isn't coming home today. They got killed."
HanShotFirst (2012-12-15 01:59:22)@Doree: I'd die of heartbreak if I ever got a phone call like that.
@KayKay: The presents can be donated and given to someone else, but the kids were one of a kind. It's just far too depressing......

HanShotFirst (2012-12-15 02:36:01)You don't have to be sad Sonic, but being insensitive about this is unforgivable.
Excuse me? Worse situations?
9/11 was an act of terrorism, which was done on purpose in order to strike fear into the American people. While people did die, that doesn't exactly give me the right to say "No one cares". Anyone that lived in NYC at the time cared, anyone that lived in America cared, and the family of the men and women who died on that day cared.
Slavery? Hah! It was your stupid religion that caused that to happen, but you know what? People still cared. It DID matter. Even if it was something that happens every day, we still didn't like putting up with it.
As for the kids that died today? It's worse than either of those cases because the shooter had no real reason for it, had nothing to gain, and did so in broad daylight in front of the only innocence humanity has left. In other words, "Da shootah dude did dat shiz fer da evulz"

HanShotFirst (2012-12-15 02:37:48)@Sonic: Yet we still gave him a 3rd term anyway. They must've thought "What could possibly go wrong"

HanShotFirst (2012-12-15 02:46:21)Sonic, the point I'm trying to get across is that someone cares. 20 parents lost what meant the world to them today, even if you aren't upset about the deaths, the least you can do is at least show some sympathy to how these people must be feeling.
Saying that it happens every day, and that we shouldn't care is just awful. Honestly. Imagine if everyone you love was just taken away from you, then have someone say "No one cares, It happens every day.".
The worst part of the situation is that these kids didn't deserve what just happened to them, compared to all the liars, scammers, rapists, murderers and general scum that are still alive at this very moment.
