So, today, I'm just being a nerd and showing you how it rains. It's actually really simple, because you only need to know about two things:

Evaporation and Condensation.

Now, this is kinda simple science, bubt it can still help you in science class... In a way.

Now, let's begin.

Evaporation

So, you know how when your mother boils water to cook something, and steam comes out? This is called Evaporation. Evaporation is the transformation of water into water vapor. This transformation is caused when water gets too hot. So, for example, imagine the sun evaporating the sea, all day. That would cause a large mass of evaporation, due to the large body of water known as the sea, and the large area of the earth the sun covers at a time.

Water vapor goes up, and forms clouds. This is how lcouds are formed, through evaporation.

Condensation

So, now that we know how clouds are formed, how do they form into water again?

This is the second part of rain, called Condensation.

You know how, when your mother is boiling water, and she puts a lid on the container you're using to boil it, and water droplets form on the bottom of the lid? This is the transformation of water vapor into water, called Condensation.

When Water Vapor cools down, it turns back into water. Not much to explain about this.

So, does this mean that it's more likely to rain in the nighttime than it is in the daytime?

Yes, I'd imagine.

And that, good sirs and madams, is a brief explanation of why it rains.
