As most of you may know, gaming magazine Nintendo Power's 24-year run will end on its 285th volume, December 2012. As a tribute, I'll be covering the next-to-final volume, Volume 284: November 2012, in this thread, and will cover the final volume when it arrives next month.

This thread will go through various important parts of various sections in the volume, with brief details.


POWER UP: New game-related info and news (Note: most games pertain to Japan and have no news of localization yet.)
-Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan [3DS]: Anyone who has played a game in the Etrian Odyssey series knows what to expect from this: a hardcore dungeon-crawling RPG with various twists.
-Bayonneta 2 [Wii U]: The sequel to the 2010 hit by PlatinumGames.

DOWNLOAD: The latest news on downloadable games
-Shantae and the Pirate's Curse [3DS eShop]: The [former] half-genie guardian of Sequin Land is back in a direct followup to the DSiWare sequel, Risky's Revenge, and this time on the 3DS. As Shantae struggles to readapt to life as a normal human being, protecting Scuttle Town from invaders has gotten pretty hard. (Remember Ammo Baron? Yeah, he's taken over the town and his baddies are everywhere.) [Re-]Enter Risky, the titular villian of Risky's Revenge and overall archenemy of Shantae since the first game on the Game Boy Color. After the evil manefestation of Shantae's genie half was destroyed, her magical power was dispersed into fragments, which evolved Risky's Tinkerbat minions into sinister monsters. The new Tinkerbats took over Risky's ship and plan to revive Risky's former mentor, the Pirate Master, and enslave the land. Can Shantae and Risky overcome their differences and fight to save Sequin Land and restore Shantae's powers?
-The Cave [Wii U eShop]: An adventure game. In a cave. Made by Ron Gilbert, the creator of the Monkey Island series and Back to the Future: The Game, along with developers Double Fine and Sega. That's pretty much it.
-Crashmo and the Guild01 series (by Level-5, the first game in the series is recently-released Liberation Maiden) were also featured.
-Mega Man's 25th anniversary was discussed with a look at the various Mega Man games currently on the Wii Virtual Console.

Better cite the website you got that GIF in your signature from, then, plus your avatar too.

If it's straight from the magazine but the magazine's name is plastered everywhere, it clearly isn't plagiarism. Besides, barely anyone else on this site cites their sources anyway. Now quit acting like the Internet Police and go play Professor Layton [THIS GAME CREATED BY LEVEL-5 STUDIOS AND COPYRIGHT THEREOF].
