(Sorry about the lack of screen shots- I'll update if I can.)

I Must Run!

A decent, if lacking twitch reflex title.

I Must Run! is, in simplist terms, a twitch reflex title, in which you must progress an infinite level while trying to rack up the highest score, like Temple Run. Here's a little break down:

Graphics
The comic book style cut scenes look excellent, if static. The gritty, hand inked style helps keep tone of the story. Backgrounds also have a fairly impressive amount detail, but get stale after a little while. The rest of the game is more or less what you'd expect of a $2 DSiWare title. The player sprite and obstacles look fairly average.

Sound
You get what you pay for. The background music is actually pretty catchy, which somewhat makes up for the fact it's the only track you'll really hear, that is, if you don't mind forced techno-punk. Be prepared to hear the same 5 sound effects over again, because there's not a lot of variety in the sound noise.

Gameplay
If you've ever played a twitch reflex game, you'll know what I'm talking about. For everyone else, you try to get to the highest score possible on one life, or try to get to the end of the level in "story." Only 3 buttons are really used for jumping, punching, and sliding. Story mode is fairly frustrating for what it is. One hit restarts the entire level. Considering how difficult it can be to keep up with the obstacles, this gets really annoying really fast. Endless mode only gives you 1 life to get as far as possible, so don't expect any huge scores.

Content
Probably the game's weakest point. There's only 2 modes, "Endless" and "Story." While you can always try to rack up a higher score, you'll probably get bored with it fairly quickly. The lack of score sharing doesn't help matters. Well, at least it's $2.

Conclusion
While the game can be pretty addicting at times, the tough-as-nails diffuculty weighs down what could have been a fast paced arcade run. It'll be a nice diversion for about 5 days, but don't expect much after that.

6.5
