For me, it all depends. I like Ocarina Of Time much more than my favourite 2D Zelda game (Adventure Of Link), but I like Adventure Of Link much more than Wind Waker. I love Dead Or Alive, but still love Super Smash Bros. (which is mostly rendered in 3D, but is a 2D fighting game). I'd like to see a new 3D Mario game, like SM64-style, but until then, I'll play Super Mario Land 2 over Super Mario Sunshine. So it's not really whether a game is 2D or 3D for me; it's more about 'is it fun?' 'Are the controls functional?' and 'Is it playable?'

I think you can't judge a game for just being 2D or 3D. I've played some excellent 3D games, but also memorable 2D platformers. It's the game itself that counts.
