Introduction
Hello everyone! It's me, and this is my first official newsposter review! Since this is my first review, I decided to do one of my favorite 3DS games, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition. This game happens to be a port of the popular Xbox360/PS3 game Super Street Fighter IV. As you will see in my review, I have many good things to say about this game.
Graphics
Before we get started, lets let this comparison screenshot speak for itself. 3DS is on the left, Xbox360 on the right.

They look pretty close, don't they? With the transition to 3DS, some corners have been cut, such as the removal of the animated backgrounds, but it still looks almost identical to the console versions. Very impressive graphics. Then of course you have the 3D, which while nothing mind blowing, adds depth that extends far into the background and really makes the fighters stand out.
Sound
The sound is just as good as the graphics. There are over 30 stages in this game, and each one has its own unique sound track. Not to mention this game has animated anime cutscences with full voice acting. Throw in all the in battle taunts, and the many diverse sound effects for the characters' moves, and you have a game with wonderful, engaging sound.

Gameplay
Gameplay is fast, fun, and fluid. The game's set up makes it even better. (more on that later) Online play sometimes has occasional lag, but for the most part it runs just as smooth as normal gameplay. The controls are wonderful, the circle pad is a great replacement for the analog, and if you don't like it you can use the D-pad. But why would you? The game has a huge amount of attacks such as special moves, light, medium, heavy punches AND kicks, along with throws, ultra, and super combos. This keeps the gameplay from getting stale and old, and keeps it alive and fresh.
Set-up

Very nice set-up. All the action is on the top screen, and you can assign four moves to the touch screen. When I first saw this at a demo unit I scoffed at it, but when I tried it out I was amazed at how well it worked. I bought the game the next day. A problem with the touch screen controls is people can endlessly spam attacks at you. However, it is possible to stick to the classic controls and filter anyone out using the touchscreen.
Content
This game is jam packed with various modes. Without rambling on for five paragraphs I can give you the basic run down.
-Arcade
-Internet match
-Vs
-3D Vs
-Challenge
-Player data
-Figurine battle
-Training
-Options
It should be noted that ALL characters from that console versions are available on 3DS.
The game also makes use of spot pass and street pass, the later being figurine battle. A new addition in this game is 3D Vs, which gives you a new over the shoulder perspective that really makes the 3D pop. I would have to say the bulk of content lies in Arcade and Internet. In Arcade you select a character and fight until you make it to the Main enemy Seth. You will also discover some info about your character through the cut scences shown. In Internet, you battle other players from around the world, and will probably spend the bulk of your time here. One other thing I should note is that this game supports download play, so your friends don't even need this game to fight you! You are limited to one character in download play, but it is a really nice touch.
Bottom line: this game will give you an insane 100+ hours of gameplay.

Conclusion
Overall, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition is a wonderful port, that lets you experience one of the greatest console games in a whole new dimension.(No joke) Instead of taking out content like many ports, this game actually adds new content. This is an absolute must add to your 3DS collection!

Overall: 9/10

Yay! Now Zoomer is no longer alone in the 3ds game reviews section

He is right. Between all of us, we can cover a solid chunk of the 3DS's game library.
pikarceus (2011-11-19 05:41:11)
Yeah, but it probably would have made the game lag, and would have taken extra development time. And we all know the 3DS would have been screwed if this game wasn't present at launch.

It really is a great game. Before I got this game, I didn't like Street Fighter at all, and now I'm a huge fan

This was the best-selling game at launch. It had online play when many of the other games did not.

Yeah, it was the first 3DS game to break a million copies sold.
pikarceus (2012-02-28 22:07:42)
Yeah, Arcade and online are the meat and potatos of the game.
