A lot of you seem to be going around telling yourself that graphics don't matter. The truth is they do. Graphics are tied to the gameplay, the better the graphics brings a better gameplay experience. More detail allows for more intricate puzzles and platforming, compare the gameplay of Super Mario World to Super Mario Bros, the power of the SNES allowed for more sophisticated gameplay than the NES. Look at the N64, look at the 3D games we got. You graphics haters, are you telling me you wish Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart 64, Majora's Mask and the rest never existed? All those games would not have been possible without the improved power and graphics.
Things only got better from there, the next generation greatly refined the limited 3D graphics and games became even more sophisticated. Graphics haters, would Super Smash Bros Melee's physics have been possible on the N64?
Don't think so.
The next generation refined graphics even more, but the Wii got left behind and missed on many games because of GRAPHICS.
Street Fighter IV & Super Street Fighter IV
Batman
Skyrim
Assassin's Creed
Mass Effect
Fable
Red Dead Redemption
Resident Evil 5
An extremely small number of games that missed the Wii, just became of graphics and power. Comment and tell me some more games the Wii missed because of this and I'll add them to the list.
Kids, graphics do matter, they affect your gaming experience in quite a few ways.
And for you hateful Nintendo fans...
Miyamoto himself during the E3 2012 presentation talked about how the Wii U's higher resolution benefited the gameplay of Pikmin 3. Resolution is part of graphics.

Graphics affect gameplay, even Mr. Miyamoto admits it.
