Hello kids, today I'm bringing you a crappy review of a not at all crappy movie. Enjoy.

There were plans to make Spider-Man 4, but it was canned so we got this instead. This reboot was much needed, after seeing it I felt it was actually stronger than the trilogy of Spider-Man films. First off, you actually get to see Peter as a little kid and his parents which leads to some nice plot development. Then you get a good feel as Peter the Teenager, which Andrew Garfield does an amazing job at. 17 year old Peter is mopey and sarcastic like most teens, but you can see what a good person he is even before that truly fateful night. A lot of sites have been calling the whole thing a love story, some even calling it a "Woman's movie." Don't let this turn you off, yes the love story is layed on a bit thick, but it is implemented well and is actually funny and VERY awkward at times. Peter is very intimidated by girls for a good chunk of the movie.

For the Villain you have the Lizard, who was a good person who under extreme pressure made a terrible mistake. For a lesser known opponent of Spider-Man, the film does a great job with him. He and Spider-Man clash multiple times in a way that will truly make your blood rush. It is apparent how much stronger he is than Spider-Man, making the viewer wonder if Spidey will even survive the fights.

This movie has the best take ever on Spider-Man. He is dark and brooding, yet still quipy. The perfect mix for me. I absolutely love all the emphasis on Peter's smarts, that is absolutely huge in the comics and I'm glad it finally came over to film. The new costume is truly fantastic, it is sleek, modern, and above all, badass.
The web shooters succeed too, Spider-Man weaves webs like never before, in one part he uses web vibrations to find the Lizard, just like a Spider searches for its prey. He also seems to have a connection to Spiders too.

This film is much darker and violent than the previous films, but as I said it still has some humor, some of it pretty suggestive. This is no longer the little kid's Spider-Man, this is much more enjoyable for the more mature audiences. Believe me, Spider-Man is truly pushed to the limit here. You thought stopping the train in 2 was crazy? In this movie he is clawed, slashed, shot, and knocked through walls multiple times. The action scenes are exciting and extreme.

Conclusion: Okay, it's not perfect, but the Amazing Spider-Man really gives us some excellent action scenes which are full of suspense, and is definitely the most comic loyal interpretation of Peter and his mind. The highlights for me would be the thought into the way Spider-Man swings, spins, and moves, amazing.

Overall: 4/5

Also: Watch after the credits, you won't regret it.

After the credits, Connors is in his cell, and a mysterious figure appears and asks "Did you tell the boy about his father?" Connors says no, and the strange figure seems pleased.
