Hi there everybody.
Here is a quick report of the Triniate progress.
I haven't done much programming the past few weeks, because I've spent almost all "free" time on school. For some reason, teachers love giving tests just before vacation, so those weeks are/ have been busy for me and spriter Jysun. But once we get vacation, we can spend more time on Triniate.
From now on, you can see the current progress of the game on http://triniate.com/progress.php. As you can see, the scripts (the engine) are coming along well, but the sprites and artwork on the other hand, are not.
The main reason for this is that Jysun is not very active, and we need a lot of sprites.
So I thought: "I have an online community of 15,000 members, why can't they help?". And that's how I recently started working on a slightly changed version of 3DSDraw: A spriter (that's a program in which you can create sprites)
For some of you, this may sound very familiar; HullBreach, the developer of DSiPaint[/link] and [link=http://3dspaint.com]3DSPaint, has done exactly the same quite some time. He has a MMORPG in the works and also developed a sprite system.
I understand that choice much better now.
So yes, our spriter is in the works right now. What can we expect when it's finished?
- A 3DSDraw look-alike sprite system to make animated sprites like humans, NPC's and enemies.
- Possibly a gallery
Sprites submitted by the member may end up in the final game. That way, I hope to speed up the sprite progress.
I guess that's it for today. Feel free to share your thoughts.
EDIT: The Triniate spriter is now done and downloadable for free in the 3DSPlaza shop! ([link=http://3dsplaza.com/forums/topic.php?topic=26580]Official announcement topic[/link])
