I have to wait for my ranks for my brother and scoutmaster's son.I have to sell popcorn that people can get for less money or buy the popcorn from Cub Scouts. So I don't care if there are Girl Scouts in my troop.

I'm pretty sure the Boyscouts was supposed to be a group activity to teach boys how to become Men, and take care of themselves, without any distractions. Same for girl scouts to be taught womanhood, which had gender roles applied, originally. (that's how I always viewed it, at least)
Sure, the times are chaning, no one wants gender roles anymore....but instead of combining the two scouts, why not just provide the same activities but without mingling the opposite sexes together? In such a "sex-crazy" society, I think it's important to not ALWAYS be surrounded by temptation or peer pressure...its good to just let boys be boys without feeling the need to impress Suzy, or for girls to be girls without the pressure to try to make Tommy jealous...they get enough of that at school.

"That barely happens at school" my eye. That happens all the time...I don't have to go to know it, I hear it from everyone I talk to. The news, the media, just browsing through facebook or twitter statuses, listening to any HS girl convo in the mall or talking to them face-to-face. Even with the little social interaction I have, I've seen it for myself in person. If it "barely happens", I guess I must just be in the right places at the right time.

These girls are obviously tired of selling cookies to win a bike or some other pathetic prizes those Scout Leaders award the children. I would be too if I was a girl scout. We need more ADVENTURE1
