The same reason people have laughed about 9/11 jokes, they know it's wrong but can't resist laughing. But if you feel offended it's just gonna have the opposite effect. That's just how dark humor works.

Beer is a depressant.

This joke is just terrible, I understand it, it's just wrong. Considering, no a dead baby isn't a 'depressant' for something to be a 'depressant' it has to be a drug or something like that. So, a dead baby isn't a depressant
