This. Please, please, please, do not open this if you're squeamish about gore. PLEASE. I mean, other mods, go ahead and remove this spoiler if it's too gory. Seriously. I'm just sharing this because it's part of war. War is hell.



As I had to explain to my oafish friend:
War is not black and white. There is no good or bad. It's rather a blurred plain of grey; we think ourselves superior and strong and the "good side". So does the "enemy". Look at the big picture: The enemy is not the enemy, nor is it the hero. It depends on your perspective, and if you are intelligent enough to look at war itself without a prejudiced eye, you'll come to realize this.

My point is that there is no good or bad. We are not the only good people in this world. Who we are fighting against thinks themselves good. We've done bad. So have they.

My point is also that:

War sucks. It's hell. It's not all valiance and courage and stardom. No, it's death and bloodshed and fighting.

Well society needs war in order to function. Not only does it stimulate the economy, but it leads to technological advancements and social development. It sets a country's morals and values.

Plus it thins out some of the surplus population.

Valor is found in one's willingness to help their country flourish and develop, not to mention bring about social reform and overthrow oppression.
