The thing with being aromantic/asexual is that you can't really shove it in people's faces, so there's no way for people to really hate you. Gаys can be flamboyant. Asexuals, hardly, if anything.
The worst it gets is when girls are coming onto you and you don't know what to do. You just don't find the idea of a relationship appealing, but you run risk of being called gаy by others if it happens often enough. It gets really awkward, especially if the girl is persistent.
Nevertheless, I cannot see how you have been treated badly because of your asexuality. Are you sure it's not something else?
