Murder is bad unless it's to stop a future murder.

Look at it like this:

1 finds out 2 is gonna kill 3.
There are two outcomes: 1 kills 2, or 1 ignores it.

Say 1 kills 2. One person dead.
Say 1 ignores it. One person dead.

Let's pretend 1 ignored it.
Now, 1 can decide whether or not to ignore it again.
One person is already dead.

1 kills 2: Two people dead.
1 ignores 2: One person dead.


It would be better if 1 leaves 2 alone, in that senario.
