The thing is, it shouldn't matter to you how people here see you because most of them are shallow, and want you to stick to your role of "village idiot". They'll pretend you still fit that role even if you change, so there's no point in not being yourself just to please everyone else here.
If Edgee started acting like NodePoint, two years would go by and the shallow users would still act like he was a huge pervert, just because they have assigned that role to him. It's the same with anyone as long as you do something that doesn't fit their own ideas of a "good person", which isn't even that.
Not all users have this attitude, but a lot of them on this website do. Do I think that defines them and makes them a bad person? No, I just look at how judgemental they are being and see it for what it really is. Insecurity. Keep in mind that a lot of users here have been homeschooled for a while, and still haven't grown out of the distorted, sheltered views they still have because of their families or experiences.
Edit: and another example of this is how everyone calls Lani "overly strict and boring" just because that was an opinion a couple of users had just bevause they disagreed with the way she enforced a rule, and then everyone started saying that even though they hardly knew anything about her at all. It didn't make any sense, but people were insecure enough to jump on that bandwagon.

Lani has always been sort of bland. She's not exactly boring though. And if she constantly made strict rules then of course people would call her strict.
First impressions go a long way, SMO didn't have a good one. Don't blame general dislike for him on insecurity. It's his and Edgee's fault for starting off as ultra retards.

From my experience, most people who were homeschooled tend to be extremely judgemental and have unrealistic standards for people. I shouldn't assume anyone here is the same, so my statement might have been completely uncalled for.
To clarify one thing, I never claimed that edgeee or SMO has or hasn't been acting different. I was saying that if they did change, almost nobody would acknowledge it. First impressions do influence people's opinions a lot. That's true, but you can't try to convince me that people on this website don't flat out refuse to acknowledge any changes that a user goes through. I could understand edgees reputation being tainted for years I guess, but not most people who have been unfairly labeled.
Yes, I was being a hypocrite by mentioning labels while labeling people who were homeschooled. That was my own personal feelings making me generalize people. (Like applebucker said, based on my early experiences)
As for Lani, I have no clue what's so "bland" about her, and I still think people's opinions about her are biased, but it seems like we'll have to agree to disagree on that.

Here you have to give at least ONE advice to all the forum users you know who needs some improvement. This is technically for giving them a feedback of what they should do to be a better user. Try making it in a nicer and mature way to say it.
