."Of course it wasn't from the Ballot, since it'll keep going until October. However, Lucas, Roy and Mewtwo were fan favories that people wanted to see for a return, and it seems Sakurai decided to bring them back for another game. I think Capcom requested Ryu to be added in the game along with Mega Man, but wanted Nintendo to save Ryu later for a surprise.
You won't see me here, but you might find me if you look in the right places.

In an interview with Sakurai, he confirms that Roy, Ryu, and Lucas were not fan demand, in fact, they were all in development before he opened the ballot. So he confirms that the team will now be on fan service! So expect a few more characters!
So get out there, and cast your vote!
