I'm quite pissed.

So, I go onto my YouTube app on Android, watch the occasional video, and..

Connection to server lost
Touch to retry

So I touch to retry, and it never works.

I then uninstall all updates to get YouTube back to factory version, and videos work. It's all fine, right? Right? Nope. Every single time I try to reply to a comment on the factory version of YouTube, both Google Play Services and YouTube crash.

WTF?!?

I tried every possible solution: DNS, Safe Mode, Wifi Off/On, Force stopping, clearing data, clearing cache, all of the above, and it STILL doesn't work.

Help?

I'm not sure what your problem is, I've always ran my YT app without any problems. What version of Android are you running?

Do you have a type of adblock enabled? Check and disable it.

If that isn't the case, Has your tablet updated recently? Maybe it's not the actual YT app.

I don't have Adblock.

My tablet has never been any version other than 4.4.4.

Sometimes Android installs small updates though. I know you uninstalled all of the YT updates but maybe it wasn't working because you needed to update it.

While you look for a solution you can use the mobile broswer version of YT, works just as well.

Well you got what you paid for. :/

I'm sure that an update will come out soon to fix your problem. 4.4.4 is a little buggy.
