Lets all discuss homeschooling and the like and share opinions.

Update: Lets use HS as an abbreviation for Homeschool, and PS for Public School. It'll save writing time

Brace yourselves.
The secret shall be shared. PM for more info.

Actually I think homeschooling is a terrible idea. Homeschooling is usually done to protect children from the bad school systems and prevent bad social interactions, but in fact the children who are being homeschooled only face social isolement and therefore they're more likely to face social problems later on in life.

^ Lots of people think that, but its untrue.
Im currently homeschooled so thats how I know its not.
There are such things as homeschool groups, co-ops, and homeschool field trips where a bunch of homeschoolers meet up and have a combined school day, do activities and projects, go to places(once our whole co-op got to go to Legoland for only $5:00 each .), and more.

My homeschooling situation is kind of mixed. I'm in a dual enrollment program with the local college, so I still go there for classes. It's a very unusual schedule, but I'm not facing the full effects of a lack of social interaction.

Still a Lugia.

Actually Homeschoolers may face social problems, but they end up smarter than kids in public school.

I understand what Robdeprop is saying. I for one am incredibly isolated, but if I had the chance to take public school I wouldn't.

The reason why, is because I can my time learning things via homeschool. Whereas in public school, if you missunderstand something and never figure it out/get taught about it, that will cause worse problems later in life. I, for one, know this.

Besides, with homeschool your schedule is way more flexible than with public school.

As a side note, how many here use an online HS course, and how many use physical books?

I use books.

I'm homeschooled, personally sucks because my problem I never get out but it's just different for everyone because some get out some don't its different for everyone! I like homeschooling for the school part and I would go to public school for the social part (I've truly never been to a real school.) So yeah. And I don't use books because I don't do school I just cheat alot
>insert something cool<

Homeschooling > public school

I'd never want to go to public school. That place is a home of improper grammar, drama, perverted idiots, bullies, etc etc etc.
I honestly don't care if I have social problems, anything to keep me away from that hellhole

Homeschool is far better
I was homeschooled in pre-I and while they were learning their abc's and colors, I was learning the planets of the solar system and how to add 3 digit numbers by 3 didgit numbers. There was this website my mom printed out worksheets for, they had all types of subjects. From Zoo animals - planets. I had always loved science when I was little, I always loved the solar system worksheets, <3

I swear, ATLEAST 50% of the users on this site are homeschooled. Though, I wish I was too. Public school will just hurt you more than being isolated at your house. I have Extreme social anxiety, Severe depression and almost put in an Asylum twice because of public school. Though I go to an alternative school now, Where I go into a resource room to work by myself while 2 other kids are working on the other end of the room and I go for 3 hours (4 next week) a week. (I go from 2-3pm on monday wednesday and Frida) And you can do 2 years of school in one year since you aren't in a normal school.

Anyway, I envy you, Lucky homeschooled bastards.

Paradox wuz here.
I'm a player.

Pros: -Less likely to be killed in a shootout
-More flexible learning time
-Less drama
-No bullies
-Less likely to get illnesses from someone else
-Higher income/More money*
-Usually end up smarter than public schooled kids

Cons: -Less social skills
-Less friends

*You don't have to pay as much for school
