Hello, Today im going to be talking about the levels of rudeness in the forums, Here is a list and description of all the types.

1. Rudeness.
Description: The incident when a person puts someone down. But isn't a big deal. Also known sa An idiotic statement posted by a user of website that is attempting to start drama.

2. Middle ranged rudeness.
Description: A short paragraph about why this person is dumb stupid ugly...etc. Should at least give warnings out.

3. Severe Rudeness (Should take action against.)
Description: 2 or more paragraphs harassing a user or more than one user.

*Please note that im not trying to erase all rudeness from plaza, but to keep it from growing.*

This is a lesson that people need to learn, people are rude, I get it. But It Can harm others. And if it dosen't harm you it's still an issue, because there is too much of it, more rudeness in these forums than I've seen anywhere else. Im telling people this because they don't get it.
I think we need to stop and take a look at what another person would feel if they read those 6 paragraphs that are harassing other users, whether it's hatred, regret, sorrow... Please consider this. ~Jarrett

Your view is valid, but this isn't the place for it. People will naturally insult people with words, for a multitude of reasons, even though the don't do it very often.

The general rule of the internet is to not let words get under your skin, because you can't physically force someone to avoid insulting you over the Interweb. Those suicides over 'cyber-bullying' were overreactions. Those kids were obviously not in the safest state of mind if they contemplated suicide over a Facebook post, but ,like for every thing that gets media coverage, it was blown out of proportion and the fingers pointed elsewhere.

Again, not disagreeing with you, but for every valid point made on the plaze, there's either a counter to it or it's ignored. Look up at the stickied threads here in the Misc forum, then count off in your head how many times they get ignored in a week. If threads that get stickied up on the front page at the very top get ignored, then you can guess how well yours will do.

More often than not, the ones that get insulted are the ones that make stupid thread or if a popular person has a few haters. It's an all to common sight these days, so the rudeness is an everyday thing here.

Yes, the general rules. But at the same time you can't force anyone to use the general rule. Im not disagreeing but, I do hold my point strongly, you all make very good points as well, well, one of you do.

True, the general rule can't be enforced the same way rude comments can't be forced out of the Internet.

I do agree that the rude comments are unnecessary, but they exist and will only bother you if you allow them to. Just like every village has it's fool, every website has it's share of arses. I'd draw a line down since there's difference between being rude and being downright awful, but arguing for a decrease in rudeness won't happen.

Besides, consider the fact that society in many areas only approves of having good manners, instead of that being the rule. Also consider how rude children are being raised these days with the Eminem-Lil wayne crappy excuse for music being what's considered 'popular' these days. Very few people have common sense these days, and even fewer have manners to go with it.

A decrease just won't happen. An increase is what you should focus on preventing, since it won't get any lower than it is right now.

Yes, I agree, rude comments will exist but you can't dismiss them, peoples feelings are un-controllable, I like your point, 'Fighting to prevent an increase.'' @HanShotFirst

Well, like I said, it shouldn't be a problem since an insult is bound to happen, so being hurt by a single negative comment by a total stranger is absurd. People on the receiving end need to have some emotional maturity, especially since the insults are mostly just trolls, criticism, or just the resident arse starting trouble again.

Yet, like I said in the last post, there's a line drawn when the posts are made with the intention of hurting someone and persist for a long while. By that point it's not insulting someone, it's being mean-spirited for some cheap reason and striking lower than one should.

In short, While rude comments are uneeded, they happen. The only way to handle the situation is to simply deal with it.

However, there's a line that separates someone attempting to be rude and someone being awful. The ones being awful are the only ones that need policing, other than that, work to prevent it from getting an increase because it won't decrease within the forseeable future.

Yes, then I guess you could say that this topic is revolving on the awful people that need policing, you are able to see clearly of what im talking about. Thanks. @HanShotFirst

Well from your post it just seemed like you wanted to cut down on all rudeness which, as I've said, would be pointless.

Perhaps being a bit clearer as to the level of what you consider 'rude' needs to be eliminated.

For me, a post saying "U r dum an ur face is ugly" is not a problem, even if it was properly spelled.

A post that brings up something traumatic when it was uncalled-for, or attempting to bring a person down post after post is really the only issue, since it is less for the lulz, and seemingly more for the evulz than anything.
