Ask your parents and grandparents. They'll tell you kids have always been bad like they are today.

If anything, some of the bad things have gone down.

Underage smoking and drinking rates have gone way down in the past twenty years.

Teen pregnancy has dropped in the past twenty years as well.

Also, look at our society becoming more progressive.

Rachel has always viewed herself as black since she was a child, just as many transgenders felt like their opposite sex when they were young, too. Yet, it's not a "choice" for transgenders, but it is for Rachel?

Yes, race includes a culture, just as genders include gender-roles...identifying with a different race means you're identifying with parts of another culture....just as transgenders idenitify with other gender-roles.

You can't feel like a race, or a gender...rather, you gravitate to stereotypes of one or the other, which makes you believe you're more like that, than what you really are.

Perhaps Rachel has racial-dysphoria? No, it's not a real thing (as far as I know) but it could simply be an undiscovered mental condition that you're all bashing because you don't understand it.
I know plenty of white people who "act black" and plenty of black people who "act white"....I literally have no problem with that, however if they were calling themselves a different race than what they were born to be, we'd have a problem with that, because we know that's just not right.

Race isn't the same as gender, however it's the exact same logic that transgenders use: that anyone can be who they "feel" they truly are. Transgender is currently considered a "condition"...meaning their feelings aren't actually legitimate (one can't ACTUALLY be born a female when they were meant to be a male), however they recieve so much support, and no one tries to talk them out of it. If you support transgenders, there's no reason not to support Rachel with her apparent dysphoria as well.

Too Long; Did not Read!:
If Bruce Jenner can grow his hair out, takes some hormones, and wears a dress, he officially becomes a "female" to society....but if a white woman identifies as a black woman, it's unacceptable? is changing your gender/sex more reasonable than changing ethnicity? Race has practically 0 genetic factors, scientifically speaking...it should be easier to change your ethnicity than to change your sex/gender,

There's no science go back up any type of "racial dysphoria".

If you argue that "transracial" is okay I guess otherkin is okay because they supposedly have "animal dysphoria" or whatever. But it's not the same

Dysphoria about race or...species...is a sigh of insanity.

Gender dysphoria actually has science explaining why it makes sense.

Gender could easily be replaced. We could just stop calling each other boys and girls and all be no gender. It truly is a thing we made up.

As stated, plenty of other cultures have alternative gender identities and don't think in the same "girl-boy" way.

an example

Some of the other cultures genders are based on gender roles, but not all.

Its almost as if not everything revolves around the western world...

tldr again show
So "racial dysphoria" can't possibly exist because science hasn't backed it up? Science used to say homosexuality was a mental illness until the 70's...just because they said or haven't said something, doesn't mean that's the way it really is.
Science probably hasn't even studied "racial dysphoria". Anyone who watches Rachel's interviews would understand her beliefs are deeply rooted in the "fact" that she's African-American...no one would choose to go through all that hate and discrimination if it wasn't branded into her that it's truth...that's how transgenders work, that's how sexualities work; it's how your brain is programmed from the day it develops. No amount of hate or harm can change who you "really are", right? Rachel fits all these things, and these are the evidences science would look at to back up "racial dysphoria".

Anyone can see there's something different (dare I say "wrong"?) when someone believes they are something they're not. Rachel believes she is black. Fact. Uh oh, I guess not, because science says she can't believe she's black because there's no scientific proof...what? It's undeniable that she does, with or without proof. All science can do is label this abnormality and come up with a cause for it, just as they do with all other mental disorders.
Homosexuality was insanity, Autism was insanity, Schizophrenia was insanity, Dementia was insanity, Down's Syndrome was insanity; until "science" actually studied them and found the reasons, causes, and treatments for them. Animal, racial, object, etc. dysphoria is just as legitimate as gender dysphoria...they all sound like insanity. Just because science has an explanation for gender dysphoria now, doesn't mean they won't have an explanation for other dysphorias in the future. Even so, science isn't saying gender dysphoria is "normal"...it's labeled as a disorder, an abnormality. A scientific definition does not change the fact that it's still psychosis. The lack of a scientific definition shouldn't warrant hate and outcasting...that's what happened to all the above listed "mental disorders", and many people suffered for something that couldn't be helped because AT THE TIME, science didn't back them up and often--on the contrary, shot them down.

Having double-standards on mental disorders is pretty closed-minded, don't ya think? Either treat all mental disorders with the disgust Rachel's dysphoria was/is treated, or accept everyone for anything.

I never see any: "This is Sarah. She's a schizophrenic. She's so inspiring to me because I struggle with schizophrenia, too. Do you know an inspiring schizophrenic? Share your favourite! ^^". There's no schizophrenic reality TV shows or "I SUPPORT SCHIZOS!" movements. Why? Because no one cares. Most people keep their disorders to themselves, and that's the way it should be. Why is having a disorder a reason to be a celebrity? It's not.

Gender dysphoria, homosexuality, transexuals...they're all "socially acceptable" now. You can leave it alone. It can stop being shoved down people's throats when they've already swallowed. And or Pete's sake, stop using disorders for popularity...people with disorders shouldn't be alienated, but they shouldn't be worshiped either.

I'll make this short and sweet.
A hypothesis that is often used in the scientific community. I'm basing most of this off of bits and pieces of information I saw years ago, but I found more recent research to back it up, so here we go;
There is a major difference between the structure of men and women's brains. This is scientific fact and has been known for a very long period of time, since they first started performing biopsies on the human brain and researching the differences.
Here is a source for this, because I know one will be requested. Although I only skimmed it because I got the information from a different article (that had a similar view) approximately three and a half years ago, I may need to refresh my memory so excuse if I mix up some of the information: http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/inside-the-mind/human-brain/men-women-different-brains1.htm
So, as you can tell, men and women have a different brain structure. It's not a heavy difference as far as basic things go, as they both function similarly with different components. It does not affect things such as intelligence on a major scale. But, of course, it does alter your gender identity and what you're sexually attracted to, and even things like how you eat. It influences physical aspects such as your hormones and metabolism because it's like their "command prompt"
Have you ever noticed how many Transgender people are soft? Of course not all of them, but I mean how a lot of transwomen seem to look softer than their "cisgender-male" counterparts even before hormonal therapy. This is not a constant, but it does happen more consistently than with "cisgender people." This is because of the command prompt, as I described. Add eating habits and other factors that come from the command prompt and that explains why many naturally look more feminine.
So, a person who's biological gender is male could have a brain that is structured more like a females. This would cause them to feel like they are a woman. One example of the structural differences is the amount of grey verses white matter. Your average "cisgender" male has more grey matter than his female counterpart, approximately six times the amount.
You have a person who is biologically female but has six times the amount of gray matter than her counterparts. She may appear slightly more masculine physically and she may wish to transition to male, because her brain is structured similar to her cisgender male counterpart.
I'd say this is present in approximately 15-20% of the Transgender community. There are many transgender people who do not have this condition, but the condition does exist.
Here is an article containing some of this information. As with the earlier one, I have only skimmed it, but it seems to contain my point: https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn20032-transsexual-differences-caught-on-brain-scan/
There's your scientific evidence.
Back on the racial aspect, considering there isn't really that much of a difference between the structure of a white man and a black man's brain, you can be a white person raised in a black community and identify more with black culture, but that is purely environmental and if you were raised in a Caucasian community you probably would have identified with them. You don't have the brain structure of a black person (well you do) because the brain structure is the same. You can't be transracial because there's legitimately nothing to transition to. It's based on phenotype which is insignificant to your mental abilities, while the difference between the male and female brain impacts our daily life, what careers we choose, and how we form friendships.
You can do more research on this on your own. The theory isn't perfect and my explanation may be faulty in some areas, but whatever.
TLN Read it or else you won't understand the point. It's not that long.
Short explanation on Genderfluid show

Okay, this is mostly gunk. I'll admit it. I can't stand many Genderfluid people because they are just attention seekers. But, of course, I must address that according to my theory above that is also possible, although how common it is I can't say.
You could have a PARTIAL difference in your brain structure. Like a neural hermophrodite. But I don't feel that it would be as common as a full on difference. Mainly because the codes are set in your DNA already, so where would the code for a partial difference in brain structure come from? The only thing I can think of is a malformation. But it's definitely possible.

Friendly reminder that homosexuality occurs in animals, and it's not just cases of domination. Some are legit homo. Look at the penguins. The gay couples adopt abandoned/orphaned eggs and babies. Does that remind you of another species?

She still looks like a man.
I honestly wouldn't give a if she was hit by a bus.
Also Alpaca is retarded for thinking that there are more than two genders, if you have a penis, you're a boy, if you have a vagina, you're a girl, there are no special snowflake tumblr genders.

But he's right. I'm sure these traditions didn't just spawn when tumblr was created. Of course more people are going to come out as a different gender in this age of technology, when they discover that different genders aside from woman and man (and that they don't always correspond with female and man, respectively) actually exist. I mean, it's not like they don't teach us about sexual/gender identity in school. Gender truly is a social construct. Biological sex is not. Look under Thailand in the wiki article. I never knew tumblr existed in the 70s.

It's not the 1930s anymore. Get with the times. There are new things being discovered. I don't know why you guys won't accept the truth.

Sorry, bad wording. Sex, male and female, are biological. Gender isn't.

Don't bother arguing with women, they don't think with their brains.

But I act androgynous but identify as a male.

Gender identity is backed up by dysphoria. You cannot be transgender without dysphoria, which is why I'm a transmedicalist.

A transmedicalist is one who believes you can only be transgender if you experience gender dysphoria (which cannot have in relation to gender roles) and a transmedicalist strives for transition to become medicalized.
