You do realize that's how the laws actually work. The cartoons that do change the name to be an alteration of the original aren't adult oriented and so the joke is lost on kids. Shows with adult comedy mention these stores by name most of the time,
and it's not just store names.
Literally any copyrighted material can be parodied directly or indirectly.
Seriously. Don't talk as if you're knowledgeable on the subject. Odds are you can't even understand how the Bill of Rights works either.

Actually yes it's called "fair use" however that's not for huge industries who earn profit from it like Simpsons someone on YouTube can make a parody however if Simpsons had a place called Kentucky fried chicken it's not counted as a parody
