She remembered their laughing voices, and their cruel faces reflecting the rage of an innocent filly, guiltlessly punishing another because of reasons they barely understood. She remembered crying when she thought nopony would see, and the scars from when she had cut herself for the first times. Since then, she had realized that if they showed, other ponies would realize, would try to "help" her. But she didn't want their "help." All she wanted was the coldness of the knife, the pain, distracting herself from the memories of the others, the others who were constantly teasing and destroying her on the inside, never realizing that their words had the power of pain. Not a physical pain, the kind of pain you can feel, but the mental kind. The kind that drove you to hurt yourself, to let the blood of your pain and emotional misery bleed out into a painful existence, so that you know you are human, that the pain inside you is real, and that the pain burning your soul burns elsewhere, places you can see it, feel it, just like the pain of being beaten up, the pain of being cut, misused, destroyed. The pain that constantly raged inside Fluttershy, threatening to break out and drive her insane, unless she could see it, feel it, know that it was there. So as the cool metal of the blade slid up the inside of her leg, she gasped in relief, in excitement, that her pain was real. She knew she could live on another day, pretending to be alright, because she knew her pain was real. Shockingly real.

DeathKid (2012-10-01 21:51:59)Honestly, it kind of just unfolded itself. I have been thinking about this idea all day, and just now I sat down and typed it out. I think i'm going to write it on paper and see what my brony friends at school think of it.
