Nutsy (2016-05-22 23:52:36)That's not even K-On's intended point. It was adapted from an all girl slice of life serialized in a seinen magazine for God's sake. What you're doing is called being a fanboy. A fagboy even.

Crush42 (2016-05-23 00:38:40)Officer Rose disapproves of your shenanigans, and requests that you stay on topic.

Serious question, tho, why don't you guys make a K-On discussion thread?

Nutsy (2016-05-23 02:37:55)Look carefully. Am I even bashing K-On? No. In fact, I've stated that I like it. Being able to recognize the areas that an anime you enjoy lacks or doesn't even have is a necessary skill of you want to be respected as an anime fan.

Nutsy (2016-05-23 12:28:13)Yeah, I know about Digi's video. It's part of being a fanboy. Having me watch a video I've already seen won't make me believe K-On has a central narrative. Funny how every K-On fanboy directs me to Digi's video instead of their own personal experience with the show. Is Digi's video what made you want to watch K-On and make you go in thinking such? Either that or a lack of experience in the genre (or anime in general) has to be the cause of it. Literally all works have conflict obviously, but with K-On it's just moe girls doing moe things like getting super flustered over trivial stuff. Unless you're swayed by all the "power of friendship"-like nonsense going on near the end I don't see why you think so highly of K-On. Those of us in the anime community of course have favorite shows we like to praise endlessly and think are personal masterpieces. Obviously we don't like to hear legitimate criticism of our favorite shows but many people, myself included, will not take you seriously if you can't accept or refuse to see the flaws in them. I understand that I'm not really giving structured criticism but rather bluntly stating flaws, but I get so much crap from other K-On fagboys that I'm tired of taking my time to give any. There is a clear difference between a "great show" and a "favorite show". It's not wrong to have favorites of course, but seeing how I have more experience with the genre and have been exposed to more means of storytelling I can honestly tell you that what K-On does is decent, but nothing substantial. Whether or not it stays an honored favorite of yours or not as you have more experiences is up to you.
So like, can we post cute girls now?

Actually, do you truly understand the concept of moe/moe pandering? I'd be happy to explain if you don't. It should clear up some stuff perhaps.

jgirl94 (2016-05-23 15:19:17)I just wish I can cosplay as Rachel 💔

little5 (2016-05-23 20:45:46)Oh.. I'm not sure which style I like more. She went from cartoonist to surreal/concept artist and Idk how to feel about that.
Her "mechanic girls" were cute.

Nutsy (2016-05-23 20:55:24)I don't think I'm being an asshole at all. Do they grow them soft up in Canada? I joke. I joke. Obviously you can't hear my tone of voice through a screen so maybe you think I'm mad or something. If anything, I'm a little upset that now that I've had better experiences with other shows and my appreciation for K-On has subsequently deteriorated you (and AppleBucker too maybe) now want to try to convince me of it's merits in futility like I had done here when I first watched it. After seeing so much moe pandering slice of life series (which K-On is at its core) I've come to appreciate more proper and structured storytelling in slice of life anime. You will too if you choose to continue watching slice of life, just trust me on this. (Seriously try Love Live sometime. It has moe and a decently structured plot for a slice of life)

Although from your last statement to me about being closed minded is rather hypocritical, I think it's time to stop beating a dead horse. (Well overdue might I add.)

The full appeal of K-On is the girls. You're reading too far onto it.
I find it ironic how when I first watched K-On and thought it was actually really good you guys weren't having it and thought I was annoying but now that I've experienced more and refined my personal taste and standards for anime everybody thinks it's good.
