The verses proclaiming people who perform fornication should be put to death was old testimate law. We no longer have to do that because Jesus died for our sins....we don't have to make animal secrifices or put homosexuals and fornicators to death because that's in God's hands now...this dosn't mean fornication and/or homosexuality is okay, it only means that we don't have to take action on it. God will judge them...we don't have to.

As Mega mentioned earlier, loving homosexuals is not the same as accepting/supporting them. Hating them and degrading them is wrong, however we cannot support them either....just as we shouldn't support adulterers or murderers.

Luckily, Christ is forgiving, and we don't have to face damnation...though this doesn't excuse us from continuing in our sin.

Oh well..
1) I don't really have a choice, but I think when I turn 18, I'll have the choice to go or not.
2) The fact I'm at church when I don't exactly have an established belief in any certain religion. I seem to be more agnostic than anything.
You won't see me here, but you might find me if you look in the right places.

I didn't know Lani was a christian-fag (first time I used "fag" purposefully) Also, supporting homosexuality shouldn't "Damn you to hell" that's part of the reason I don't go to church anymore.

For all you people saying you should be 18 whether you decide to go to church or not, you're retards. Going to church isn't a damn law. It's not school, a job, an XXX shop. It's a place you go if you want to go. God isn't gonna damn you to hell if you don't go a week or two, or stop going.

I stopped going to church around 14. When I realized how dumb religion is. The bible could've been written by some fatass in the 1800's as a fiction novel for all you idiots know, and you worship it. Sometimes too much *cough*westboro*cough* You don't even have any proof of a higher being.

Also, I'd rather not have my life ruled over by a set of "commandments" that may or may not have even been inscribed onto 2 stones by god himself (yeah, I know my bible stories) No one follows them anyways.

And I find Christians to be the worst kinds of people (some, anyways) If I ever have a christian friend, I want him to be someone who I can sit down, have a cup of coffee with and not hear one word about religious crap.

That's my opinion. I will not argue. Especially since christians, along with them being the worst type of people, are also the most horrible people to argue with. Like, beyond Carter level (and that's high, nothing gets through his skull unless Spencer talks to him) Nothing gets through christians skulls anyways. They will NEVER see your side of your opinion or respect it in any way.

I consider myself agnostic. Which means I'm open to the idea of god, but until I see proof of it, then I won't believe it.

I wasn't saying that supporting homosexuality will damn you to hell...I was implying that committing homosexuality/fornication/murder/etc would, but God will forgive you for it if you've ever done it.

Also I'm pretty sure no one here said that if you don't go to church, you're damned....You don't have to go to church at all to be considered faithful.

There are "butt-head Christians" whom are impossible to talk to, and they hardly even know what they're saying. There are many poor examples of what Christians really are, and it's rare to find a living someone who is a good example these days...however, you say you don't like many Christians because they "NEVER see your side of your opinion or respect it in any way"....maybe if you showed the same attitude towards Christianity, people would act better by your example.

I think it's important to remmeber that religion is NOT (or shouldn't be) just a hobby. It's a way of life....it's why we say and do the things that we do and believe what we believe. Christianity is more than showing up to church every week and being a "good person", it's about serving a holy deity. You may not agree with the things they say or "shove down your throat", but that's the way they live because they think it's right...just as you live the way you do because you think that's right. I'll respect you either way, and I think people of religion should be given mutual respect as well.

I understand that there appears to be inequality and discriminatory content in the New Testiment....but upon studying the scriptures, you'll realize that it's not.

Because you didn't actually cite anything directly, I'll have to speak generally.

Many people complain about sexism in the Bible...i.e, women can't speak up in the church, the man should be the head of the household, etc...This isn't because women are created--or percieved as--unequal...we just have different roles, and it's as simple as that.

I think it's well known by now that Jesus tells us to love our enemies and sinners. It doesn't tell Christians to discriminate anyone, in fact it tells us quite the opposite.
I think it's often a misconception for people who have never really read the Bible to think it's only about good and happy things. There are many things in the Bible that people don't want to admit, but we have to accept the truth.


What makes Christianity different from all other religions... show

Some of you have been going on about how there are so many religious texts, it's impossible to know which ones are true, if at all.

Consider this....The Bible is remarkably consistent, despite having well over 50 writers over the timespan of about 2,000 years. It's unique to other ancient manuscripts considering the number of ancient manuscripts found and the smallness of the timescale between when the work was first written and the oldest extant manuscript (thereby minimizing any possibility of alteration from the original). This indicates that the Bible has been accurately transmitted throughout the ages. Few people would doubt Plato's writings, yet the Bible is actually more authenticated.

Archeological discoveries have confirmed some of the events that were written in the Bible did indeed happen (i.e. The walls of Jericho fell as descibed in Joshua).

A number of passages in the Bible predict future events in great details--events that were future to the writers but are now in our past. How could they have known this, had the scriptures not been inspired by God?

Think about it, study it some more....it'll be worth it.
