Disney hasn't even hinted to making Elsa gay...it was a few random fans on twitter who were begging Disney to make it cannon, and that somehow caused an explosion of news articles saying Elsa "might be gay" or that she should be gay...it's still just a request from the LGBT community at this point, and I think it's smart that Disney hasn't commented one way or another.
Elsa being queer would ruin the franchise, I think. The point of Frozen was to push the idea that women can be independant (I guess?) and that romantic love isn't the only kind of love...giving Elsa a lover of any sort kinda defeats that purpose.
