I like half naked cartoon girls as much as the next piece of weeb garbage but I really don't think Shantae would make a good kids movie and there isn't enough substance in the story in my opinion to adapt it primarily for an older audience.

If they keep it tame yet fun and tongue-in-cheek like in the games, I firmly believe they can make a really good PG-rated Shantae film with much of the charm kept in-tact. Might not be a blockbuster, but as The Iron Giant proved, it doesn't need to make box office records to be a beloved classic.

Depends. It could be, just as much as it could join the not-so-envied ranks of video game adaptation failures like DOA: Dead Or Alive, Tomb Raider: Cradle Of Life, or any Uwe Boll film ever.
