I really, really tried to get into the original on the VC, but I just couldn't. Not to say it's a bad game by any means, and although it hasn't aged as poorly as, say, GoldenEye, Lylat Wars, The Legend Of Zelda or Cybermorph, it really, really has not aged well. I, too, am excited for Half-Genie Hero, but I really hope that after that, they either work on a remake of the original, or for the love of all that is Shantae, try an open-world 3D game.

I don't think Shantae would do well in 3D.

Also, what's everyone's deal with wanting open 3D worlds in every single franchise nowadays? It's fun to explore but people seem to forget how resfreshing and fun good platformers are.
