Every time marriage is twisted to suit others rather than its intended purpose, it trifles me. This is no exception.

For example, I'm fine with Crush's opinion because he's not insulting gays with those statements and hasn't ever. At least not that I recall. People should be allowed to state their opinion but they shouldn't force it upon others. I think a lot of people don't think opinions should be stated at all, unless they agree with it. Which is dumb.

By that logic both incest and polygamy should be allowed if all involved "love" each other. For the most part it is such a narcissistic movement. My other issue with it is now its opened the doors to all the transgender crap, which is sheer stupidity.
The benefits argument is weak because if you base your whole argument on that you're basically saying you would only get married because of money. Which is pathetic and shallow, but that is the left in a nutshell.
Gotta love liberals, they say they protect women yet they're forcing schools to let men who claim to be
women shower and change with actual women. If I were a parent with a daughter I would be livid.

Allowing straight couples to marry can also lead to incest, as long as the member is of the opposite sex, right? One of the reasons incestuous couples aren't allowed to marry is because the child is likely to develop a genetic defect. Not to mention, tons of cases of incest involve a lack of consent. If we were to base it off of "Ew, she married her cousin?!" any homosexual could easily go "Ew, he married a girl?" Someone who despises animals could easily go, "Ew, they actually pay money to protect those vermin?!" Polygamy is not the same as wanting to be committed to one partner.
If straight people can marry for benefits, why can't gay people? The sanctity was already ruined when people begun marrying for benefits. And, as I said before, the benefits aren't just materialistic.
I really don't see why people are against it. Wanda Sykes said it best. Jimmy and John getting married isn't going to ruin your own straight marriage. But I also understand that those are your opinions, the likeliness of us agreeing on this is low, so I'm done after this.
Edit: It's cool to have an opinion, sure, but when that opinion hurts a valid group of people, that's when it's problematic. Then again, their validity is also subjective. You could use science, but not everyone believes in it. Grey areas are problematic.
