While it's apparent that certain things are easy for some people and some are not, it comes down to initiative and work ethic. Although everyone has a different style of learning and thought process, it's not really the subject matter that's the determinate of a grade. There's a whole slew of factors.

Ah, yes... Grades....

B in Art, B in Orchestra, A in English, B in History, B in Gym, B in Geometry, A in Chemistry, C in Honors Latin. I'd have A's if I did all of my homework. B's in Gym because I didn't feel like participating one day. I have a C in Latin because I have to make up a quiz.

I really hate it when a kid's excuse is that he/she has bad teachers. They better have one hell of an excuse for not being able to practice and review subjects on their own time with their own methods when they have internet and countless resources at their fingers.

There's these things I like to call bull assignments. They can make you fail a class when assessments do not constitute at least 60% of a class' overall grade.

Excuse me? I could very well ace each of my subjects. My problems do not stem from having "bad teachers." While I do dislike the staff and students, the primary fuel for my failure is, to put is simply, me not giving a damn. Yes, I'm aware it's irresponsible. I resent the fact that schools prioritize grades over actual learning. I understand that grades are meant to gauge one's understanding of a specific subject, but that isn't how anyone sees it anymore. Or maybe I'm just an imbecile.
