How do you know these things? You haven't even bothered to listen to the facts and proof I have yet. You can't go telling me this is all untrue when you haven't even listened to my side of the story yet.
HanShotFirst (2013-08-21 05:07:20)
Because, like I said, your "proofs" don't answer questions, because religion starts at the answer to the question.

God and/or things related to him is the answer, regardless of the question. That's why it's wrong, because you started with the answer instead of the question.

Science starts with the question and ends with the answer.

My proof has answered many questions. Many of my own.
Thanks for listening to my proof before you made that statement.

Who says any religious person 'started with the answer and ended with the question'? I sure didn't. I always had my doubts about God and creation. That is, until I found sufficient proof that CONVINCED me none of this was a joke.

My statement seems to go over your head.

Say the question was "Is there a God?".

Religion will answer yes, without actually gathering the information first. They started with the answer, then look for things to "prove" it. They already came to the conclusion that there is a God, because that's what they have faith on. You can't prove things on this basis because the process is illogical, and there is an obvious bias towards the answer.

Science is the exact opposite of this. Rather than coming to the conclusion first, that there is or isn't a God, they instead say I don't know, so let's find out. Afterwards they proceed to look for things related to the question, rather than an answer.

As a result, one can validate claims made by science because it's formatted in a way where you can do it yourself. You can follow what Scientists do, step by step, to see how they came to their answer.

You can't follow the Religious path step by step because it jumps straight to the answer.

-.-' It is not going over my head.

Religion did NOT begin with the answer, It started with a question, just like Science.

How was the world created? That question led to many researches and investigatons. Lots of proof was found after that.
I'm still willing to share the proof but you don't seem interested in hearing it.
HanShotFirst (2013-08-21 05:53:25)
Go right on ahead then. State your "proof"

Preacher, it doesn't have anything to do with perspective. It has to do with the fact that you don't open any discussion. You just spout what you believe and call it a day.

Really? Because last I recall, you made a Thread regarding "False Prophets". Ignoring the blatant disrespect and ignorance of other beliefs, you simply stated your opinion without opening any discussion. It's the same in every single thread you've made so far; You state your opinion on a topic and do not open discussion.

Here, the OP states his stance then asks for other to take part. The only time you've done that was when you were advertising yourself.

Edit: Fallicious logic is fallacious.

Here's my proof:

Well first off, Jackson asked me why God hasn't proven himself to exist. Well, he has. In many ways. But its not easy to spot. He's not going to simply fly out of the sky and shout "Heyy everybody, its me, the creator!" No. Thats too easy. We have to come to believe in him ourselves.

Anyway, I'm going to tell you a story of one of the ways God decided to prove his existence.

I was having many doubts last year. I found both The Big Bang and God too un-real to be true. I didn't know what to believe. Then, I found a story about a boy who actually went to heaven and SAW Jesus.
He was in the hospital, died, and came back.
Wait a second, how the heck do I know this is true?!

The boy told his parents later on that he had seen his dead older sister and grandfather in heaven. Neither of which he had known about at the time.

He was also able to tell exactly where his mom and dad were at at the time of his death because he was 'looking down on them'.

No one has been able to disprove this story yet.
If this isn't sufficient evidence that there's a heaven, then I don't know what is.

There are multiple other stories similar to this one. (people going to heaven than coming back to tell about it)

But, that's not my only proof. That's just evidence heaven exists.

@preacher-

YOU. RULE.

@Preacher: Actually, Hitler killed Jews, Cripples, Homosexuals, Foreigners, and POWs, as well as several anyone suspected of housing any of the above, which was a very small number due to Indoctrination and Propaganda methods.

Stating your opinion is not opening discussion; it's stating your opinion and asking others to listen.

A Christian family fleeing Germany has less to do with Hitler killing Christians, and more to do with the fact that thousands fled Germany when he came into power or shortly after, because they realized he was a Genocidal Asshole.

How I can prove evolution is happening right now:

Elephants are being born without those weird pointy things near their trunks (What are they even called?) so ivory poachers don't want to hunt them. That is evolution right there, but then again when I hear 'evolution' I think of this:

But overall I'm an atheist that's sided with science but in all fairness, I don't give a crap what other people's religions are, just let them believe what they want to believe. End of.

Attending a Catholic School doesn't automatically make you Catholic. Even though Catholicism and Judaism disagree on the subject of Jesus, School is School. >_>;
