Windows 10 isn't that bad. It's a lot less resource heavy than windows 7.

explain how i had a computer that ran Windows 7 no problem, but struggled to run Windows 10, then.

(compaq sucks lol)

then my PC is bellow average?? it's still pretty awesome for an old PC. it's got a core2 quad Q6600 @2.4GHz and 6GB of DDR2 RAM. i'm looking for more DDR2 RAM clocked at 1066MHz to match my other DDR2 RAM clocked at 1066MHz. (also, to be honest, RAM timing gets irrelevant after 1000MHz. That mean every cycle is 1/1,000,000 seconds long.)

My desktop is just the default background and whatever programs are put on there when I install them.

Eh. I'll throw a GTX 750/950/1070 in it at some point and see how it is. If it's not much improvement, I'll get a new motherboard and processor. If it works good enough to run, say, Blacklight: Retribution, I'll keep my PC.

Oh, I know. Windows 7 is snappy. I just can't do anything with OpenGL 2.1 or above. Or anything requiring 3D acceleration, for that matter.

I'm planning on getting a Core2 Quad Q9550, too.
