It wasn't until the last couple months that I changed mine from my Mii. When I replaced it with a picture of Ryu Hayabusa, tho, everyone seemed to take me way too seriously. When I changed it to the golden age Nintendo logo, everything went back to 'normal.' I don’t know why I didn't just bring back my Mii, but I'm not going to dwell on it. Point is, Mii profile pics can be used outside of 2013.
