Cloud was the most requested ff character and Bayonetta was the one who won the ballot. We didn't need Corin though. I would hate for Inkling to be b in Sm4sh though, hell no.

TheIronMadden (2016-01-04 06:05:38)^ At this point, I think Konami is way too stingy with their IPs to let Sakurai put them in Smash Bros. They'll make more by putting them in pachinko machines. Also, they have no clue that Hudsonsoft is a thing that they own, which means no Bomberman.

Personally, I think Inklings would more likely be a great candidate for Smash 5, and the same would go for Elma (Xenoblade Chronicles X). Corrin surprised me because I was thinking he/she would be in Smash 5 as a replacement for Robin. I will say that Sakurai was able to surprise me with that.
Also, Bayonetta at this point is more of a 2nd party character than a 3rd party like Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, or Cloud. At least her newest game is a Wii U exclusive, and Nintendo took part in publishing both of the Bayonetta games to their console (funny since Sega published Bayo1 for 360 and PS3, but were only advisors for Bayo2 since they apparently own the franchise over Platinum Games).
Really, I wasn't that disappointed about Sakurai's choice to add Corrin since he has potential of having unique moves and attacks, and I'm glad to see Bayonetta was the overall winner of the ballot.
