I wish some of the Japanese customs would prevail here in the West.

Like wearing a surgery mask in public when you're sick, even if it's just a cold. It's to be considerate to the spread of germs; which people in the West are not very considerate about.

Okay, I'll have to explain what I meant by "melting pot"

In Canada, every race seems to have their own community. Especially the Japs and the Chinese. They are segregated from everyone else and they live like they did when they were in their homeland. Something of a melting pot would be better than what we have now.
