You know what's really funny, guys? The fact that the majority of people who legally obtained firearms and have shot before, have also never used said firearms to hurt and/or kill anyone, and the fact that abortion kills more people in a year than gun-related crimes could hope to!

Anyway, three other tips I learned in the Army:

*Maintain sight picture--Basically, always try to aim for the same place (centre mass). On a human-shaped target (which is what we use), the best area to aim for is the chest. As the target is further out of range, you aim a little higher to compensate.

*Steady breathing--This is crucial: shoot consistently at a level of breath that works for you. The Army teaches to exhale completely and shoot while you're at the bottom of your breath, but I've always shot better with a full inhale. Find what you're most comfortable with and shoot from there. Otherwise (you can see the results on paper targets) your shots can be much higher or lower than you expect, and for hunting small animals, it makes all the difference.

*Finally, trigger squeeze--Do not, as they say, 'pull' the trigger; carefully and slowly squeeze the trigger, or else your shot can once again end up anywhere. Carefully squeeze, to a point where the shot should almost surprise you. These three practices together should help with your shot (assuming you didn't already know this).

Oh, sorry, I forgot, until the umbilical cord is cut, it's just a clump of cells or tissue...

Yes, breathing, thinking, feeling, made-up-of-the-same-flesh-and-blood-as-a-human-being tissue.

Also, when trying to argue a point (or in your case, against one), it's probably best not to sound like a Starbucks-obsessed, stereotypical teenage white girl. :b

And you sound like a Starbucks-obsessed, stereotypical teenage white girl. Is that not the case?!?

Arguing in a thread about how to use ranged weapons. Smh.

Crush just wants attention.

I just exist at this point. Nothing too special going on.

We all knew that this was the direction in which this thread was going to go.

Violent people buy guns, therefore, all people who buy guns are violent. Roger.

So these news reports about the kid who shot up the school and had a history of playing Grand Theft Auto...?

Violent people play violent video games, therefore, all people who play violent video games are violent.

You give an example of a certain demographic, focus only on extreme cases, and form a harmful stereotype based solely on your focus--seriously, I know most of you are just kids, but really, I didn't think anybody who could operate a computer well enough to access this site could mentally sink that low.

Besides, this thread is about tips to improve shooting accuracy. Please stay on topic, kids.

Flux, you literally said, in quote: 'As for gun violence, stop trying to argue that people with guns aren't violent. No one believes you.' If you can't see how that sounds like saying people who own guns are inherently violent, you're either hardcore trolling, or unfathomably thick in the head.

As for David, a gun can act as a weapon or a shield. It depends entirely on who wields it. Since that doesn't seem to be getting through to anyone, and because people seem to want to avoid staying on topic like the plague, I agree with the CLOSE REQUEST

Nah. You attack me using a knife, and I guarantee I can defend myself against you with a loaded gun. Later.
Crush42 (2015-10-21 00:07:26)
OK, thanks!

Tfw the person who derailed this thread is asking for a close request because the thread derailed
Crush42 (2015-10-21 00:16:02)
Adding tips about how to shoot well on a forum titled 'How to shoot well using a gun/bow' = derailing the thread.

Low quality b8, m8. I r8 0/8.

Well, it was a combined effort between you and David but your post sparked the argument.
Crush42 (2015-10-21 00:26:05)
The thread was derailed LOOOOOOOOOONG before I came in. I was trying to get it back on topic. This thread wasn't made to discuss the morals of firearms, it was made to share advice on improving with one.

The only people affected by the gun laws are the good, law abiding citizens. The bad guys will still get their hands on the guns. Its best that we have them to protect ourselves, and our families.

We do not forget.
