"Really, don't be a fanboy and be honest."

Sorry, I don't understand why it's so hated!
BirdJesus (2015-05-16 15:46:42)
I can't see the fandom lasting very long. FNAF isn't something with longevity like Minecraft.

The gameplay is awful and boring and the scaring methods are flat out poor.

Its overrated, like Pewdiepie. So it gets annoying when you see it everywhere on the internet. Its like Gangnam style, its played too often, and its extremely annoying. The song is not even good.
Levijw (2015-05-16 16:05:10)
HOW is it "awful"?

The "logic" used here is from another dimension.

"the scaring methods are flat out poor."

Again, quoting myself.

"Don't screw up = no jumpscares"

HAHA! CoolApps, did you really think you ended this? Your answer isn't even a good reason to hate the game, just like all the other comments.
BlueBlur (2015-05-16 16:19:37)
What I see here is classic overuse of the word "overrated"
"There was a time above. A time before. There were perfect things. Diamond absolutes."
AntiChrist (2015-05-16 16:22:21)
I guess you can say that the word itself has become overrated.

"like Minecraft." That game it infinite. But that's besides the point, The point is, HOW is it "awful"?

It's not a good horror game. The jumpscares and environment stop being scary after a few hours. A horror game has to constantly keep you on the edge of your seat, and that doesn't work when you do the same thing for five nights. The story isn't as good as people say it is. Some kids were murdered. Yay.

"The jumpscares"

Do I really need to quote myself again?

"environment stop being scary after a few hours."

Because you can't walk around and find new stuff.

The horror element isn't the only thing to these games. Another element (maybe even the main element) is the strategy element. What people forget is that this is the strategy horror. If you don't care about horror or don't like the horror presented to you, then focus on a strategy to get through the game. If you don't like that, then this isn't the game for you.

The Five Nights at Freddy's game isn't exactly a new concept. It seems very similar to a game released back in 1992 for the Sega CD, and it sucked a massive chode.

Here is a video of the Game Grumps playing said game so you can see how similar it is to FNAF:

 strategy

No. The "strategy" in these games is half-assed. It's usually just praying that the RNG doesn't screw you over.

The only similarities Night Trap and Five Nights at Freddy's have are the security cameras and the fact that you have to not die.

I'm terrible at explaining stuff like this. That's why I haven't thus far.

It's easier to explain what's wrong with a broken machine, than it is to explain why a machine is working in the first place.

I'll say this though, as a strategy game, it's very well balanced, everything you do has a positive and negative reaction.

In the first game, the first night is so boring, but that's to your benefit, you have no idea what's going on and phone guy explains it to you.

And you know what I just realized? This game is more of a 'play it and move on' type of game Being that type of game, it doesn't have too much replay value, unless you're trying to piece together the lore or beat 4/10 20 mode. If you replay it, you have to go through the first nights again, and if you're more of a 'get right to it' kind of person, you don't want to do that right?

I think now I see it. You've already played the game, you know how everything works and seeing new let's plays of the first nights on your favorite channels, watching people learn the same things over and over gets annoying.

I understand why some people don't like it. But that's nothing against the game itself.
