The only valid reason I see you guys saying are the conversational topics....Smash Bros., Pokemon, and that one user who rants about KPop so much that it seems like the whole chatroom is interested (Headsup: we're not interested).

Also, there aren't many new users in the chats who aren't alts....Even so, can't we welcome true new users with open arms? We were all new once...they might end up being a really cool user who fits in with the community well. If they're not, well...you don't ever have to talk to them again The pleasures of cyber chats and ignore buttons....

In my opinion, both the forums and chatrooms have their own pros and cons. The forums seem more like a "make your comment and leave because none of us care how tall you are". While in a chatroom, you're more inclined to comment on someone's height...conversations last longer. Of course, good discussions happen in the forums from time to time, but you're obligated to stay on topic even if the discussion takes you elsewhere; while the regular chats have no rules for that.

They're just different experiences....Maybe you guys should try them out more often even if the mods are terrifying.

Topics related to games like given above should be in the games chat room, like half of the chatting users are discussing games in every chat room except chat room game.

I just want the two chat rooms, chat room game and chat room ROBOT9000-BLEEDING to be removed. Chat room ROBOT9000-BLEEDING is always empty.

Why are most of the people complaining that people are having discussions about games, seriously this is called 3DSPLAZA its natural that people discuss or play games with each other I don't understand the issue with that.

I don't necessarily hate the chats or the forums. Each have their advantages and disadvantage. The chats are fast, reliable, etc. Where as the Forums call upon more honesty, and thought when speaking.

I like the chats better, simply because those who use the chats have ten times better attitude than here in the forums. Otherwise, I would like the forums better.

I hate it because the chatroom format sucks. You can't view old messages, the discussion changes constantly, and half the time the chat is just people posting "hi add me plz." The forums allow much more guided discussion, and let us view old posts. I wouldn't actually mind the chats if they weren't the most active part of the site.

But like BirdJesus said, it'd be cool to view old messages in which only forums allow you to do so. I left the chats for a few reasons..

1. People were acting like complete dumbasses.

2. I wanted to try out Plaza's Forums.

3. I needed a little break from every part of the website because I've been on this site for 2-3 years now, so I figured I'd need a break so I began from the end of January to the beginning of May ( somewhere around that )

Because the community surrounding both have two entirely different schools of thought, thus even the mods of each section have diametrically opposed views of how to interpret the rules of the site.

The reason I dislike the chatroom is that the community around it is insufferable, in the sense that they don't bother at all with applying any measure of thought into their discussion, so they wallow in their ignorance of certain topics and they aren't called on it because their ignorant statements soon vanish as the discussion moves forward.

Here, on the forums, when you say stupid things, your stupidity is out in the open for anyone to see and call you out on. The reason some of us forum dwelling members don't like the chat is this very reason.

You can type "lol i just had a pie" in a thread, or as the topic of a thread. It'll drown and be ignored for a discussion of actual merit, such as a discussion about reptiles or arthropod, of the differences between American and Asian cinematography, even of simple things such as how your lives are going. You will not get a serious reply unless you have a topic worth discussing, which means you actually used your brain.

You can type "lol i just had a pie", and you'll get equally thoughtless replies for a time before someone switches the topic over to something else.

"But we can have thoughtful discussion too!" you cry.

Well you can, but normally it's people who frequent the forums that have those discussions in the chats, not people who exclusively use the chatroom.

I do frequently go in the chats, but

-Always same topics

-Moderators like to cluster all in one room

-People can take over the chat as long as they have an icon, long username with strange characters, bright cSplit and able to flood without FloodGuard banning them.

-Most new users are on 3DS and don't realize they can scroll on the homepage
