The only time I really remember anything happening that was physical was when my dad pushed me into the table and I flew across it. After that he promised to never lay a hand on me and it's been years since it's happen.

I got paddled many times as a kid, until I was maybe about 6 or 7 when my parents decided I was old enough to take different responsibility.

My parents never brutally "beat" me, especially since they believed it was wrong to discipline out of anger. Despite the fact that it's "2014", I think kids should still be paddled....a proper paddling, that is; not abusive paddling.
I like the way my parents did it. They made me understand that it was a consequence and they weren't doing it because they wanted to (though, I'm sure they both had their moments...). Not that I ever wanted to be paddled, but I'm glad they did...It made me a respectful child.

I never did... I had a timeout like once, which was about it. I was a very quiet child. I never really did anything.

My brothers tho. They got their whooped all the time until they were like 8. Not just by my parents.
