Not only are they the chosen one, but they never want to be the chosen one. It's seriously annoying. The only show this had a legitimate reason for is avatar the last airbender.
"Oh, I am the only one who can stop this evil just because of pure luck, despite the effort others that are way stronger and smarter than me put into stopping this evil each day, only to witness more allies of theirs die? Instead of using my reasoning and rational thinking to know that I should feel OBLIGATED to do this, I'll whine about not wanting to be the chosen one for some shallow reason like uh... Wanting to spend time with my stupid friends and living a normal life instead of helping you guys out. "
