See, every group has a point. The 'Occupy' movement is possible the best example of having a point, but being a piss-poor example of representing it, which is why people hate PETA. We love the idea, just not the group involved.

The Occupation of Zuccotti Park was with the intention of increasing the taxes of the 1% of America's population that could pay their taxes and still have millions to burn. It was a noble cause.

However, after 1 week, the protesters had made the park into a hellhole. There was rape, drug abuse, rapid spread of STD's, attempted looting, violence, and so much more. At the same time, the protesters got 5-Star meals for free, used the Wi-fi of nearby stores for their I-Pads, and generally just mooched off of the 1% they were arguing against.

In other words, they didn't represent a group that wanted political change. They represented a group dedicated to being lazy douchebags that get free stuff just because they're protesting. In other eyes, they were heroes because they only looked at what the groups stood for. But for those of us in New York, we saw things differently because we were actually living with them. Other places soon learned just how awful the protesters were when they had to deal with their own Occupy movements.

But what does this have to Do with PETA again?

PETA is essentially the Occupy movement all over again, except this time, instead of doing things to actually fix the problems and represent a group that wants to end animal abuse, they represent a group that brings people to court for so much as the mention of killing a rat, then waste everyone's time by collecting donations, only to use all of it for hiring lawyers and paying compensation they'll inevitablely owe to the people they sue.
