I know this should belong in the personal thread, but I really need help ASAP since almost no one comments there.

Here's how it goes:
So last week, it was the first day of school and met this cute girl who is into gaming! (Jackpot!) on that same day, I get to see an old friend from middle school. Since that day, we hanged out.

But here's the catch, me and the girl like each other, and we both have a feeling that my friend likes her. She doesn't want to go out with me just yet until we can settle this problem. We both fear that we might hurt his feelings.

Any advice? Please! I really need this opportunity!

You should know that feelings will have to be hurt so that that person can get over it. If you try to do it without hurting his feelings then that's just making it harder for yourself and the girl you're into.
Try to be open. Also, consider what David said above. Who are you planning to spend the rest of your life with?

You don't really know that your friend even likes her. Maybe ask him as calmly as you can if he likes her. Talk to him about it and don't sound so stiff or paranoid. If he is your friend, that means you would've known him for a while and he would understand you and listen to you.

But yes or no, he still might feel a bit left out and even some of your other friends. Most likely, you're going to hang out with her more and maybe even go on dates. Some guys(and girls) go as far as to change their personalities. Like David said, friendships tend to last more than relationships since your preference changes in life. It's very rare that you're gonna marry this girl too. Basically, it all goes down to keeping the friendship or the girl.

If you and your friend who possibly like her as well are actual friends and cool with each other, you can approach him and we gotta talk something out. Then go into details about whats going on and how each other feel. Be respectful when doing so however because it gets really sensitive if it turns out he does. As well as after make sure to establish that regardless of what occurs that you both are still friends and you aren't going to let feelings for a girl divide you two.
