She was allegedly hatched from an egg, so eggs were used to symbolize the goddess. Rabbits known to be very fertile, so they were used to symbolize Easter (the goddess of fertility).
So in all reality, dying eggs and making up stories about a fluffy "Easter Bunny" is all related to a pagan practice and tradition.
