iceman (2014-08-28 16:50:02)Nah I like real music over digital editing even though 90% of music uses Digital modifying now.
Mephistopheles (2014-08-28 16:52:33)@iceman
Most electronic music uses sampling from real instuments, you know.
I don't know what YOU listen to, but based on your taste in footwear I don't think it's anything "real".
If I were to define "real" it would probably be live aucoustic music or classical music. Nearly everything put out commercially has editing in it.

iceman (2014-08-28 16:59:42)I openly admit everything I listen to especially in Rap/Country is edited. I don't deny that a bit. What I meant by real is genuine singing. Such as my mommy singing me to sleep.
Mephistopheles (2014-08-28 18:44:58)I like rock music better too, but I'm not an ignorant twat that's blind to other types of music.

carlos11 (2014-08-28 22:28:54)Pony music is garbage.

carlos11 (2014-08-28 22:51:44)That's a bold statement from someone that openly disses rap as a whole.

carlos11 (2014-08-29 03:41:25)Pony music is almost as bad as crapaloid.
I'm just glad that Meia finally got my TTSTFD message.

little5 (2014-08-29 06:05:11)Yes, I do actually. There's some kind of glitch or bug that won't let ANYONE (profile mods either) change my signature. It stays the same no matter what. It'll have to stay like that until SL fixes it (aka forever). @FluxerCry
WYoshiX2 (2014-08-29 17:08:38)It's a shame to see what has become of electronic music/EDM lately. Everything is this big room electro house stuff now. It isn't bad in my opinion, but as Kishy said, it's all too repetitive. Hearing something new and inventive is what keeps the scene fresh, not throwing some pop stars into the mix and calling it amazing. What the EDM industry needs is variety.
And I'm no brony, but even I'll admit that I've heard some good pony music.
Still a Lugia.

Heck, electronic isn't even my favorite genre but I enjoy it and this has come to my attention.
I feel as though the state of mainstream electronic music has become stagnant. Everything has been sounding the same, the same pop chords are used, and every popular EDM song is disgustingly formulaic.
Electronic music is just becoming another form of mass produced pop with little inspiration or effort put into it. We have artists like Calvin Harris who used to put out quality unique music back in the beginning of his career and then conformed to pop standards and starting making songs for over hyped popstars. Why is this the new normal?
Is it really so much to ask for less of that and more of this:
I believe that it's an electronic artist's job to put out surreal and unique soundscapes that have never been heard before.
Do you like electronic music? If so what does the electronic music industry need more of in your opinion?
