ConnorRonnoc (2014-03-28 07:23:34)If you were to allow this, so much hate would be aimed at gays, and that just wouldn't be fair. They're equal with us as well as Religious people! Plus, I don't think anything about homosexuality being a sin is ever mentioned in the Bible.

MegaBeanish (2014-03-28 07:42:46)^ It is actually. I've grown up reading the Bible every week. Church twice a week for 16 years.
But being g ay is not a choice. They can not control it. So why should they not be allowed the same rights as the rest of the people? That's why I support LGBT.
Plus, some people don't believe in the Bible.

carlos11 (2014-03-28 14:34:13)This is the single most idiotic thing I've read all morning long.
There's no way in hell this bill will be passed. You just can't treat people like this.
Language is a tool for efficient communication. The internet is a tool for fast communication. Do not defy both intents by posting incoherent writing.
TREEhugger101 (2014-03-28 16:14:32)I hope whoever had the idea of this bill burns in hell for the rest of eternity and lives a sad, miserable life alone and rotting in the cesspit where they came from. Bullying people just for being ga y? No. Just... no. If I ever saw that happen, I'd stand up for the victim.
Cheers. I'm going to sign it.

HanShotFirst (2014-03-28 18:51:47)The problem with this bill is that it has an unwanted implication by the ones who passed it.
They're alright with Christians being allowed to spout bigotry, but under the same law, a muslim extremist can get up in their classroom and randomly say "Everyone in this room will burn in hell for being filthy American infidel and I shall personally escort you there"
......and walk away because he's just "Expressing his religious beliefs"
Another could then spout nonsense saying that this Geology course is a disgrace to the name of Gaia, while his brother says that they'll incur the wrath of Athena for acting like intellectuals while saying obvious lies.
And they'll walk out free and clear.
Anyone can say anything hateful, and get away with it so long as they can say it was a part of their religion, which could be anything under the sun.

little5 (2014-03-28 19:56:36)Funny.. I'm going to Tennessee next week..
This makes me want to throw up.
little5 (2014-03-28 19:58:17)I'm going to sign this..
But think about it.. What if people answered every question on a test with "God".
I mean, God is everything., right?
HanShotFirst (2014-03-28 20:04:24)"Why does Saturn have rings?"
"God liked it, so he put a ring on it"

ConnorRonnoc (2014-03-28 20:37:00)Good ol' Britain doesn't deal with crap like this... I hope...

One thing I disagree with is answering test questions with "god" and things like that.
The test is not testing or challenging their religious beliefs. They know exactly what it means by "where does it come from" and they are just choosing to put "god" to be lazy. It isn't necessary.
pikarceus (2014-03-28 22:52:55)Um...how exactly is a bill designed to protect religion a vicious attack on homosexual rights?
Everyone is just jumping to conclusions. Also, with how popular g@y rights is right now, most people wouldn't have the stones to say anything against it in public anyway.

The Tennessee Religious Viewpoints Anti-discrimination Act.
Tennessee governor Bill Haslam has just received a bill that allows and encourages anti-g ay bullying in the name of "religious freedom." This would mean a student can stand up in class and say "Being g ay is a sin and g ays are going to hell." and this speech would be protected. And they could answer a question on a test such as "Where does water come from?" with the answer "God."
