These few paragraphs aren't a lot to read if you think about it, so please read the whole thing and help me out here.
First of all, we need to put an end to a few things here. First of all, we need to get rid of spam stories.
Spam stories are stories that look like they were posted by nine year olds. They are ones that only put half a paragraph then say "to be continued". An EXAMPLE of a spam story is this;
"One day I was at my house and I saw a guy outside my window that was creepy looking. I saw my friends dead body outside and screamed. I hid in my room and the guy was inside my house!
To be continued.
Zomg liek if u think i shud continue! I werked vry hard on dis. "
End of example.
We don't want this. We also don't want these to be encouraged by people with terrible taste that will read anything.

No. First of all, spam stories are wasting space for all the good stories that are being drowned by them. And guess what?
MOST OF THEM DON'T EVEN GET CONTINUED!
An example of a NON SPAM STORY is "the ultimate slenderman novel" ( I don't know the name of the creator.)
Only three people saw it before it was drowned by a bunch of spam stories. I know that we need less stories about slenderman/Jeff the killer and stuff like that but this slenderman story is actually GOOD.
By "good" I mean an actual PLOT, good DIALOGUE, character development ( also more than just three or four charactors like most stories ) and actual events. It doesn't just rush the story to make each part scary, it actually introduces the characters so the story makes sense and makes it realistic.
It puts events in a certain order so there can actually be a CLIMATIC ENDING. Not just a bunch of kids hiding and being chased around by slenderman like most stories are.
Good stuff like this is the opposite of a spam story and the kinds of things that sadly get drowned by spam stories, never to be read by anyone.
Note: you don't have to read what is in the spoilers but I encourage you to so this will be better explained and you can understand my reasoning.
Another thing we need to get rid of is unoriginality.
Unoriginality is things that are not original.
Things we see too often, things we get tired of, things that steal credit, posting other people's good stories without putting a disclaimer, etc etc etc.
An example of something unoriginal is making your own fan fiction if things like;
Jeff the killer
Slenderman
Smile dog
Herobrine
The rake
Video game creepypastas
Lavender town
Jane the killer
Etc.
The reason you shouldn't post stories about them like "Jeff the killer returns" or "hero brine 2!" Is because most of them are freaking stupid. They are not HALF as good as the ORIGINAL and you people post them WAY TO OFTEN.
Now, if you are going to post a story about one of them that's realistic and longer, (by longer I mean more than just three paragraphs) and with a little character development here and there, that's fine. But posting things like
"One day I saw Jeff the killer and-"
And thinking right of the top your head (making it up as you go along), that's not tolerated by us. We can easily tell if the story will be good or not by seeing a beginning that says
"I saw slenderman and-"
Or "a guy was killing everyone"
Then that's a terrible story. First of all, you can't make a scary story unless you tell us about the charactors first and not try to make the beginning as scary as you can already. Why? Because we will see it coming.
If you are able to see that coming, we will predict it too. Just remember that.
The last thing we need these forums cleansed of is the large number of "sign up for this story" threads
Those stories where you have to say "I wanna be in it!" In the thread to get to battle against a hacker or whatever in their story.
I know, I know, the stories are OK but the problem is, there are just too many. I know it's cool and all to be and a story where you look awesome and stuff but a majority of people in the story won't even get an important role.
They will just be pointless characters without any personal decelopment or their own story line. It's usually only really popular users or best friends of the author that get really important roles where everything else doesn't really matter. It's the truth.
I'm not saying stop these, but just keep the number of them to a minimum and keep all separate parts in one thread.
THE WAY WE WILL DO THIS;
I am asking moderators for permission to REPORT spam stories and ones that are unoriginal because they take up too much space.
I know it will cause slight protest but it will be worth it in the end. If we are able to flag stories that don't have any detail and only have a couple paragraphs without any of the story even starting, we will be able to have a better story forum with LEGITIMATE stories.
